These herb dryers are handmade to order by Brian Kirkby of Rippa Woodturning.
Brian is a member of the Swan Woodturners and sells a variety of beautifully wood turned pieces at country markets or by request.
The herb dryer is made from reclaimed pine timber which is sourced from factory refuse containers, thus reducing landfill. Most of the timber is reclaimed from packing crates or pallets and is locally grown Pinus radiata. Sometimes the reclaimed crates come from outside Australia so the pine is of unknown species. All pine used is untreated.
The fabric is durable and breathable for air circulation and can be removed for washing. The herb dryer is designed for flat pack assembly/disassembly. The flat pack dimensions are detailed. The actual height of the assembled dryer is 50cm.
This herb dryer is particularly great for drying herb leaves such as thyme, sage, rosemary, bay, basil and marjoram. It can be used for drying fruit, chillies and mushrooms. It has 4 hooks for hanging fruit or herbs and 3 removable, washable cloth shelves.
The dryers are made to order and can be slightly modified to requirements.
