Introducing Lady Marmalade, an adorable urban goat filled with charm and spunk. Despite her small size, her personality shines brightly. With her cheerful and mischievous nature, she will capture your heart and inspire you through the pages of this book.
Meet Lady Marmalade – The Perfect Companion for Growing Food and Making Friends!
Lady Marmalade, a contented goat in the countryside, finds herself in quite the predicament when she relocates to the bustling city!
While feeling lonely and hungry, she decides to take a stroll and stumbles upon a colourful community of neighbours growing delicious food for her to devour. With assistance from Mrs. Barretts (who tends to carrots) and Patty Prettice (known for her lettuce), among others, she fills her belly and gains a group of new friends to invite to a celebration.
The first reading brings tales of mischief and mayhem! (Or so they say!) but on subsequent readings you will learn that this is not just your average Goat tale, but rather Lady Marmalade is a quirky tale of urban agriculture, friendship building, overcoming loneliness, and making nutritious food choices and celebrating diversity in our neighbourhoods. Oh, and plenty of goat poo!
I loved Lady Marmalade from the moment I saw her. There’s so much to learn when we look at life through her goggles. With good food and friends you have the world in your neighbourhood. Costa Georgiadis, Gardening Australia Host.
Whimsical imagination and artistry inspired by experience nurturing food, chooks, goats, kids and community in suburban Australia. David Holmgren, Co-originator of Permaculture.
A complete delight – Lady Marmalade will charm you and also teach you how to make friends in the big city! Hannah Moloney, Gardening Australia presenter.
